This lovely vintage piece features a sizeable oval-cut amethyst in a beautiful shade of royal purple, with faceting that catches the light beautifully. The gemstone is bezel-set within a yellow gold surround that leads into tapering shoulders and a smooth gold shank. The inside of the band is particularly sweet, with a personal engraving reading “A.D-D.B 25.12.69”, suggesting the ring was given as a Christmas gift in 1969 and adding a lovely little piece of its original history.
